What is Specialist AE?
Account Executive, a typical sales position at Salesforce, learns sales skills to maximize numbers from the perspective of account strategy, while Product Specialist AE focuses on how to grow the business of the segment in charge. You will not only hone your sales skills to close the deal in front of you, but also gain experience in advancing business from a generalist’s perspective. Being able to gain this kind of experience within a large company like Salesforce is a position that can greatly contribute to your career advancement in a way that is different from previous sales positions.
Attractiveness of Data Cloud AE position:
Data Cloud is currently in the introduction phase of the product lifecycle, so it is very attractive in that one product can provide a consistent experience from the launch phase of the market introduction phase to the growth and maturity phases. There’s no fixed path for success, so it’s open to put your own ideas and plans into direction. This is a position with great responsibility as the company is putting top priority and actively investing in product development and marketing, but it will be giving an irreplaceable experience in your career history if you make success in this position.
Responsibilities:
Specialist AE is also a sales position, so their main mission is to acquire ACV, but since they are also responsible for the growth of the segment they are responsible for, they will be involved in a variety of tasks other than handling business negotiations. Below, we will introduce the typical duties of Specialist AE.
Data Cloud business progression support (depending on the situation, you may lead the business progression yourself)
Planning and execution of enablement to Sales team (AE/SE)
Event planning and execution for PipeGen and Progression purposes
Speaker at marketing seminar like SWTT and private seminars
Creating and maintaining assets such as case studies, knowledge, and content necessary for selling
Understand and analyze figures such as ACV, Pipeline, and PipeGen for assigned territory, and plan & execute biz plan address business issues.
Communication and make business direction, strategy and plan with the 3rd line, 2nd line, and 1st line of the assigned territory
Requirements:
It is expected that the need to utilize external data to improve CRM and to utilize data to enable AI to produce high-quality output will continue to increase. We need to make full use of all our resources (people, goods, money, and information) and actively take action to cultivate innovators, early adopters, and reference customers. Therefore, the ideal person for this position is as follows:
5 or more years of sales experience in B2B SaaS and cloud fields
Ability to understand and explain the process necessary to sell products that are nice to have for customers (Ability to understand and explain the process of solution selling, not catalog selling)
Ability to tackle problems and issues using decomposition thinking, prioritize and take action
Ability to flexibly change stance and behavior to achieve goals
Being able to demonstrate leadership from a medium- to long-term growth perspective as the owner of the segment in charge.
Fluent in Korean with business-level proficiency in English.
(Preferred Requirements)
Expertise in modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) and experience in sales of CDP, DWH, and Data Lake solutions.
Experience with infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or local cloud vendors’ platforms.
Understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem, including Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Service Cloud, to effectively align Data Cloud solutions with customer needs.
Have experienced the product life cycle from introduction stage to maturity stage.
