The Technical Product Lead for Universal Banking Lending products, provides end-to-end technical leadership and operational excellence across the Universal Banking Universal Banking Lending Core product line. This role leads a multi-disciplinary engineering team spanning software engineering, release engineering, data engineering & pipelines, SDLC/PMLC governance, product support, incident management, service management, system capacity/performance management, and engineering best practices.

Working as a strategic partner across Product, GTM, and Services, this leader ensures seamless collaboration across shared services, product and functional leads, enabling reliable, scalable, and customer-centric delivery of the Universal Banking Lending product. As a member of the CTO Leadership Team, they contribute to enterprise-wide technology strategy, standards, and execution excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Engineering Leadership

  • Lead engineering teams responsible for application development, integration, and modernization for the Universal Banking Lending product line.
  • Implement and evolve engineering best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion modern architectures, tooling, automation, and DevOps/DevSecOps capabilities.
  • Ensure predictability, velocity, and quality across all engineering workflows.
     

Release Engineering & SDLC/PMLC Governance

  • Own the full SDLC and PMLC lifecycle for Universal Banking Lending, ensuring rigor, transparency, and measurability.
  • Govern release readiness, pipelines, versioning, change approvals, and deployment orchestration.
  • Maintain strong alignment with Enterprise PMO, Product Strategy, and Architecture.


Service & Incident Management

  • Lead product support, incident triage, root-cause analysis, and problem management.
  • Drive continuous improvement to increase stability, reduce MTTR, and minimize recurring issues.
  • Own service management functions: change, release, configuration, and environment management.


Performance, Capacity & Reliability

  • Monitor and optimize system performance, throughput, latency, and scalability across environments.
  • Conduct proactive capacity planning and ensure resilience and reliability across services.
  • Partner with SRE/Platform and Infrastructure teams to maintain SLAs/SLOs.

Leadership

  • Collaborate daily with Product Management, GTM teams, and Services to align priorities, improve cross-functional practices, and accelerate delivery.
  • Act as the technical voice of the Universal Banking Lending product within customer journeys, business processes, and service delivery.
  • Ensure technical roadmaps align with business outcomes and customer expectations.
  • Influence platform, tooling, architectural, and investment decisions.
  • As a member of the CTO Leadership Team, model the behaviours and leadership needed to drive growth, collaboration, and strategic thinking within the function.

Competencies/Experience

  • Track record of leading Tribes / Engineering domains of 40 to 80 engineers grouped by squads (5 to 8 squads depending on size)
  • Led engineering team transformation in engineering practices evolution in Agile and demonstrate strong understanding of SAFe and preferably other framework like LeSS and Spotify and any variation – demonstrate ability to improve engineers' productivity, efficiency and quality
  • Well versed in modern engineering practices including tools like Jira, Confluence etc. and deploying AI engineering tools like GHCP
  • Mature leader with strong interpersonal skills (communication, strategic, complex problem solving and leadership)
  • Proven track record in shaping and leading a major scope of Application platform engineering and strategy for enterprise grade, B2B mission critical solutions – Background in Fintech and Financial Services is required   
  • Strong exposure with our stack on Cloud, SaaS, Java and Microservices
  • Ideally build, set up common and cross cutting capabilities and team but not necessarily as long as some of the above competencies
