Why this role is important?
We are hiring for the role of Manager, Digital Health.
This role will report into the Director, Digital Health Platforms and support the execution of strategic and operational initiatives related to digital health integrations at Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) and Loblaw (LCL) pharmacy locations. The successful candidate will scope, plan, and monitor these initiatives and build value for our customers, store teams and the enterprise.
Our team's goal is to empower Canadians to better manage their health through care delivery from their local SDM or LCL pharmacy team, and through digital tools that connect them to a broader network of care. Your work will enable key capabilities across provider facing systems and platforms that allow seamless delivery of pharmacy care services. Collaborating with your peers on joint technology roadmaps, your work will be meaningful in improving provider experiences and patient access to care. This work will support the enterprise’s mission to connect patients and providers through an integrated network of healthcare products and services to deliver better health outcomes.
What you’ll do:
Deliver product requirements based on prioritization and trade-off decisions to deliver the most impact for users and the business
Help build and maintain a product roadmap, leveraging a deep understanding of our customers, vendors, and technology that supports customers and aligns to internal business strategy and goals
Own the backlog including prioritization, grooming, writing user stories and generally keeping the development team unblocked and running efficiently
Leverage quantitative & qualitative data when making key product decisions
Lead day-to-day coordination and engagement of large cross-functional teams (IT, Operations, Professional Services), to implement plans for enterprise-wide projects resolving issues as needed
Help drive user acquisition and engagement through product roadmap decisions, using customer insights and user feedback wherever possible
Manage external vendor relationships and build detailed execution plans across the enterprise with key partners
Identify strategic and operational opportunities in the pharmacy and healthcare space and support build-out and implementation
Take ownership of driving business results of your portfolio including developing and leading programs and campaigns and meeting business goals
Become a subject matter authority on your portfolio, and provide guidance on business, professional and technical requirements to secure growth
Work with operations teams, store owners and pharmacy managers to ensure developed programs are effectively implemented
Regularly conduct user research to understand user’s needs, pain points and identify opportunities to optimize and/or build capabilities
Interpret, analyze, and summarize data to report on key program metrics and results, including trends of growth drivers and barriers. You will apply these insights to make recommendations to support strategies and decision-making.
Develop and refine use cases, opportunity assessments, financial models, and other related business planning material
Become the subject matter authority in new areas of healthcare innovation, as well as relevant industry developments
What you’ll need:
University degree in Business, Healthcare, Finance or Marketing; MBA or equivalent degree is an asset
2-3 years proven experience managing product development lifecyles with a focus on delivering user-centric experiences
Make decisions with imperfect information; ability to multi-task, ability to be proactive and take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
Know how to lead without authority and be comfortable managing chaos, ambiguity and complexity
Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy that includes a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Experience working with technology and development teams to resolve issues and deliver scope of work
Comfortable navigating a matrixed, multi-stakeholder environment, and drive to outcomes and deliverables
Learns from their successes & failures, has a bias for action, and can find a solution for problems that surface during development and delivery cycles
Experience making difficult trade-off decisions while working in a fast paced, analytical and experimentation-driven environment
Experience using data to inform decisions and prioritize work
Innovative self-starter with the ability to identify and propose new ideas to drive process and product improvements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey new concepts in a clear, stepwise and motivational approach
Strong project management skills and ability to work with various teams, often in a project lead role and across multiple provinces, detail-oriented with strong planning skills. Proficient in the use of Power Point, Excel, Word; experience with product management tools (Confluence, Jira etc.)
General healthcare, digital health and/or Pharmacy experience is an asset
