We are currently looking for an experienced Lead Developer contractor to integrate into our Technology division. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in both designing and implementing a highly dynamic and performant Search solution utilizing advanced tools such as OpenSearch and machine learning techniques through frameworks like Amazon SageMaker. They must also deliver comprehensive analytical insights by leveraging sophisticated statistical models and predictive analytics methodologies, providing deep analytical insights and forecasts that guide strategic decisions of our current client

 

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain back-end systems to support large-scale data processing and enhance our platform's functionality.
• Deploy and manage OpenSearch clusters, with specialized attention to a complex, multi-node environment containing over a terabyte of data.
• Drive advancements in semantic search, implementing machine learning models on AWS SageMaker and integrating them seamlessly into our systems.
• Design and optimize data workflows, leveraging foundational knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and Python programming.
• Create and manage cloud-based infrastructure using CloudFormation, Lambda, and other components of the AWS ecosystem.
• Write unit tests and ensure code quality to enhance reliability and maintainability across the team.
• Participate in client-facing sprints and requirement reviews, collaborating actively with PMs, Designers, and Developers.
• Communicate frequently with clients to address needs, manage expectations, and provide technical insights.

We Are Looking For

• A versatile engineer with a strong foundation in semantic search, OpenSearch, and Python.
• Proficiency in machine learning, particularly with AWS tools, to elevate data retrieval and analysis capabilities.
• Experience in AWS services and infrastructure, including Lambda, CloudFormation, and the AWS ecosystem.
• Adept at independent work, yet enthusiastic about cross-functional collaboration.
• Capable of managing small teams (0-3 individuals) and driving projects to meet client expectations.

The base pay for the Lead Developer Contractor role is between $100 - $112/hr. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, knowledge, skills, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
