About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Sam's Tech Merchandising, Fusion Launchpad team. This role focuses on backend development, architecture design, and team leadership. You will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance systems while mentoring and guiding a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Java Spring Boot.
* Architecture Design: Lead the design and implementation of microservice architectures and event-driven systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
* Database Management: Work with both relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) to design efficient data storage solutions.
* Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of technical excellence.
* DevOps & CI/CD: Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployment and monitoring processes.
* Event-Driven Architecture: Design and implement event-driven systems using tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
* Best Practices: Advocate for and implement best practices in software development, including clean code, testing, and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in backend development and architecture design.
Technical Expertise:
* Proficiency in Java Spring Boot for backend development.
* Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
* Hands-on experience with microservice architecture and event-driven architecture.
* Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
* Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
* Leadership: Proven experience leading teams, mentoring engineers, and driving technical decisions.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering scalable and maintainable solutions.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
* Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
* Experience in designing and implementing APIs (RESTful and/or GraphQL).

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
