MCSE (Multi Channel Sourcing Engine aka Walmart Fulfilment Engine) is a group of applications to balance customer experience with fulfilment costs. It is the order sourcing platform that promises the best delivery dates to our customers while balancing our supply chain network, reducing costs, and providing self-service automated tools to our partners. Walmart Fulfillment Engine (WFE) team own the stack of services which calculates item eligibility , availability, delivery dates and Shipping charge . Our services are built to scale millions of hits per minutes. We run geo based optimization algorithms to give best date and shipping charge to our customers.

What You’ll Do
As a Staff Software Engineer for Walmart Labs, you’ll have the opportunity to
Create simple, modular, extensible and functional design in adherence to the requirements for a product/solution within a domain.
Develop complex, scalable and fault tolerant software systems to cater to the given requirements using springboot, java & Cassandra.
Work with the Product team to understand Customer requirements and analyze the gaps between existing architecture and customer requirements.
Drive production deployments using platform's automated CI and deployment tools. Provide support as SME for the functional domain.
Analyze system performance impacting the complete product for non-functional requirements like reliability, operability, performance efficiency and security.
Create detailed design using mock screens, pseudo codes and detailed functional logic of the modules for an entire product.
Be the technical leader for the team & not only guiding but actively supporting team as needed and takes end to end ownership of design and architecture of a large-scale product/module.
Ensure products are well designed, well-built and have flexible architectures to meet business needs and future extensibility.
Triaging and Troubleshooting including regression testing, root cause analysis (RCA), root cause corrective action (RCCA) To guide team members in RCA and RCCA to identify the origins of and prevent defects/performance gaps.
Good active listener, being able to hear and include propositions from other engineers in the final solution.
Perform code reviews, design reviews, guide the test team with the user scenarios
Work on optimizing the products on Cloud Infra, cost, performance etc.
Partner with your senior and junior teammates throughout the software development lifecycle to cultivate a reciprocal learning environment from development to debugging and operational excellence.
What You’ll bring
Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
Hands on experience in Microservices, RESTful webservices development in Java SpringBoot, Dropwizard or equivalent framework).
Good knowledge in messaging systems: Kafka / RabbitMQ
Good knowledge of Cloud Native Architecture, Microservice Architecture and related stacks (Service Registry, ELK / Splunk, service registry, VMs, etc.) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Knowledge of at least one of Azure/Google Cloud Platforms.
Self-Starter with the ability to multitask across several priority areas in the face of fuzzy situations.
Strong ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns and configurations tools for faster development.
Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology.
