Summary/Objective

As a representative for our company, you will be performing non-technical general building maintenance and minor repairs.   

Essential Functions*

Performs general building maintenance under close supervision. Performs grounds, maintenance, and minor repair work. Performs general labor work as assigned by the engineer, including loading, uploading, and moving materials and running errands for the project. Replaces light bulbs/lamps and clean fixtures. Responds quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns. Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits. Must maintain a neat appearance. Continuously seeks opportunities to improve the customer experience. Follows safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Able to communicate with the team. Sense of urgency. Customer service. Knowledge of commercial facilities maintenance. Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively. May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or on call duties.


Education and Work Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 3-5 years of experience in commercial or residential facilities and building maintenance. Have own hand tools and battery drill.

Work Environment

The work environment includes the following elements and exposures:

Small-to-large work environment. Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks. Fast paced work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments. Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Constant use of hand when handling and fingering hand and power tools and, when handling small items such as screws, bolts, etc. Occasional keying, typing, and writing. Constant grasping, pushing, pulling, and rotating body. Frequent lifting and carrying objects more than 40 lbs. Item weighing over 40 lbs. must be carried by two (2) people. Constant reaching across, above, and outward in work area to fix equipment. Frequent pushing and pulling objects weighing over 40 lbs. Items weighing over 40 lbs. must be push/pull by two people or with appropriate machinery. Good or correctable vision is required to safely perform all duties. Occasional standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, balancing and beck usage-flexing.
