Paço de Arcos, Portugal (Hybrid)

We are seeking a talented Cloud Platform Engineer to join the TransVerse Cloud team, responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the cloud-based infrastructure of the TransVerse platform. This role will focus on building reliable, scalable, and secure services using Microsoft Azure, ensuring seamless support to multiple Hitachi Rail product lines.

You will be part of an international and cross-functional team, contributing to a modern DevSecOps platform that powers mission-critical applications in the railway domain.

Description

• Design, implement and manage Azure-based infrastructure and services for the TransVerse Cloud platform
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, or Ansible
• Support application teams in deploying and operating their services on TransVerse Cloud
• Ensure platform security, availability, monitoring, and compliance with internal and external standards
• Collaborate with architects and product owners to shape the roadmap for TransVerse Cloud and its integration with other platform components
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and contribute to root cause analyses
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and automation initiatives

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles
• Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, AKS, Key Vault, Storage, Networking, etc.)
• Experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools
• Understanding of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservice-based architectures
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, or Python)
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
• Strong team spirit, autonomy, and ownership
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have:

• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400)
• Experience with Keycloak, PostgreSQL or RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor)
• Previous experience with hybrid environments (cloud + on-premise)
• Familiarity with ITIL processes
• Previous experience in the railway, transport, or industrial software sectors
