Position Summary:
The Imports & Commodities Category Analyst is responsible for data report development and financial analysis in support of product marketing and procurement activities. This shall include analytical reporting, vendor and item setup and discontinuance in both the GFS and Back Office Systems. Manages the synchronization of data and execution of all supply chain transactions between Limson/NATL and GFS. Creates and communicates information to the internal team regarding service levels, inventory turns, product margins, conversions, etc.
What you will do:
Develops reporting and analyzes sales and financial data that support category analysis and procurement strategies.
Works closely with NA Business Operations Supervisor to provide continuous improvement in documenting all processes and best practices.
Monitors and analyzes assigned product categories and related product markets for cost-saving opportunities.
Manages and presents competitive costing data used to create margin strategies for Limson/NATL.
Collaborates with National Multi Unit and Merchandising Teams to develop and monitor product forecast and variance reporting to optimize service level and inventory.
Maintains vendor and item data by assisting Merchandising Team, Cost Analyst and Buyers in new vendor set up, new item setup, maintaining accurate item costs and/or vendor costs in the assigned categories.
Communicates category or product details regarding supply issues, cost changes, new items, substitutions, food show, truckload sale events, etc., to all Category Leads, Category Specialists and Protein Commodity Buyers at each GFS Division.
Translates vendor contract language into actionable cost and supply agreements. Completes template forms that provide the necessary vendor program information for vendor administration data entry.
Performs other duties as assigned.
When you will work:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days in office, 1 day from home.
What you'll bring to the table:
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Account, Marketing is required.
Minimum of three years previous Financial / Marketing experience with analytical abilities and working knowledge of the supplier community. Marketing experience with emphasis in product/category knowledge and food service industry. In lieu of the specified education and experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.
Must know advanced principles of analysis, reporting, information valuation, and must understand process improvement strategies, and be technologically adaptable.
Experience with SQL, Data Lake, Google Apps is highly preferred.
Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel (including formulas, VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc).
Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously
Results oriented with strong determination to succeed
Positive attitude with a commitment to learning and desire for personal and professional growth
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial measures and internal control analysis and implementation.
Prior experience or proficiency with the Back Office Systems.
Knowledge in word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications.
General working knowledge of Lawson, Genisys, data warehouse software applications.
