We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join our Account Management team at eBay to drive success across our diverse portfolio of merchants.

The Opportunity

The role is responsible for managing a portfolio of strategic sellers on the eBay Australia platform. As a Key Account Manager in the  Account Management team you will be accountable for both the operational and commercial success of the merchant portfolio!

Overview

  •  This Key Account Manager role will own a cohort of strategic sellers from our Auto Parts & Accessories focus category

  • Develop long lasting seller partnerships by deeply understanding our sellers goals on ebay and supporting them with driving their growth and success through various growth leavers whilst driving ebay’s objectives.  

  • Complete relevant account strategies and develop tactics to improve seller satisfaction. 

  • Partner with focus category managers to execute on found opportunities from your seller cohort.  

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive the relationship with your portfolio of merchants in line with the category strategy.

  • Schedule and run quarterly business reviews and lead monthly growth check-ins with the seller cohort.

  • Develop strategy and plans to drive growth for your sellers, aligned with their bespoke goals and needs whilst also driving towards Focus Category and Key Account Management goals 

  • Build trading plans in conjunction with merchants and use your partner leadership skills to drive performance across sales, marketing, advertising, and merchandising.

  • Review and act on urgency flags for your seller accounts ensuring your sellers work through resolving any barriers which could cause sales breakage.

  • Identify and understand where growth opportunities are, and drive these to execution with your sellers. 

  • Educate sellers on tools available to support their growth.

  • Be the voice of the customer (the seller) be proactive in your feedback and advocacy in relation to all seller feedback. 

  • Develop an excellent understanding of key sellers’ business operations and current strategies and utilise insight to find and deliver growth opportunities.

  • Have a deep and detailed understanding of the eBay platform and assets in order to create tailored solutions for your merchants.

  • Supervise and guide your portfolio of merchants in maintaining strong seller health measures. 


 

Skills

  • Strong collaborator management: ability to develop strong and positive relationships with key seller partners (from GM level to online manager level), and also internally with key team members within the ebay business.

  • Ability to prioritise initiatives for greatest impact.

  • A strong background of driving commercial results through business development and relationship management.

  • Able to build partnerships and work reciprocally with others to meet shared objectives.

  • Strong ability to analyse data and draw actionable insights from these.

  • Strong trading acumen, comfortable to operate in a fast-paced trading environment and skilled at running peak trading periods.

  • Track record of building effective trading relationships with clients/suppliers/brands at all levels.

  • Outstanding negotiation skills to source critical inventory and establish joint commercial targets.

  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to operate with agility to navigate change.

  • Confident self-starter with proven execution expertise.

  • A background in the retail industry, ideally ecommerce. 

Experience required:

  • Min of 3+ years in an Account Management role

  • Strong communication, partner management, commercial and organisational skills

  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred but not critical if the individual has a passion or interest for the automotive category
