As an Analyst on the eCrime Investigations and Operations team, you will be responsible for detecting, neutralizing, and preventing malicious activity targeting Yahoo users. You will play a key role in defending millions of users by identifying patterns of abuse and contributing to the systems that keep them safe.

Your experience in the analysis of internet-based fraud, malware, spam, and account takeover (ATO) ensures that we identify and disrupt the most significant threats to our users.

In a typical day, you may find yourself

  • Identifying and neutralizing malicious activity targeting Yahoo users by leveraging AI-augmented detection systems and automated playbooks.

  • Evaluating and validating AI-generated threat intelligence to identify emerging patterns of fraud and account takeover.

  • Analyzing intel from internal partners and external parties to action threats in a timely manner.

  • Optimizing and refining prompts for internal AI tools to accelerate the summarization of complex threat reports and data mining.

  • Providing investigative support, including data mining and analytics (Splunk, SQL), to various internal teams.

  • Proactively identifying and implementing AI-driven efficiencies to replace repetitive manual investigative tasks.

  • Feeding insights to engineering and product teams to help improve the overall Yahoo user security experience.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) of web-based fraud (spam, phishing, malware, ATO).

  • Working knowledge of big data technologies such as Splunk, MySQL, or Hadoop.

  • Experience or strong interest in using Generative AI tools (e.g., LLMs) to assist with data analysis, report writing, or code/query generation.

  • Ability to exercise judgment in when to rely on AI-assisted outputs versus manual deep-dive analysis.

  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of the Threat Intelligence Cycle.

  • Comfortable performing in a remote-first environment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $88,500.00 - $184,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
