Position Summary:
Supervisors oversee the workflow and personnel in the facilities production department. They are also responsible for coaching, resolving issues, and supporting subordinates and upper management.
Essential Functions:
Ensures operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming receipts (e.g., raw materials) and outgoing shipments.
Maintaining, handling, and disposition of products and keeping warehouse/production inventory current up to the company standards.
Inspects the physical condition of warehouse/production equipment. Prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment replacement.
Collaborates with other distribution centers/specialty companies and business leaders to ensure coordination of all business.
A supervisor must follow and maintain all Quality Assurance, HACCP, SQF requirements, and Occupational Health & Safety regulations and ensure all employees under their department follow all the regulations.
Completed all required training (e.g., Leadership, Equipment, and Operational), ensured employees’ adherence to company practices and procedures, and applied corrective action when needed.
Plans staff break time schedules. Conducts interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff. Performs performance monitoring (e.g., Probationary, Annual Evaluation, and Performance Objectives) of staff. Initiates follow-through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.
Perform any other duties as required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Excellent attention to detail and strong motivation toward company, team, and individual results.
Ability to work effectively with others and build and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships.
Must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
Must have good time management and organizational skills.
Must have a good understanding of USDA regulations. (US only)
Ability to solve business problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formats.
Employees in all leadership positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
Must have the ability to prepare and deliver reports, business correspondence, and presentations, as well as speak at minor functions as a departmental representative.
Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment.
Must be able to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity and reference policies and practices for guidance.
Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, email, and internet software applications.

Desktop or laptop computer.
Networked printer/ copier/ scanner.
Google Applications (Chrome, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)
Telephone and Voicemail.
Department-specific equipment
Minimum Years of Experience:
One year of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is an asset. 3-5 years in the food industry, specializing in one or more of the following areas: Red Meat, Seafood, Poultry, Pork, or Lamb, with a focus on Quality Assurance.
