Job Summary:
At Caterpillar’s East Peoria, IL facility, we manufacture and assemble Track Type Tractors. In this role as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will report to the Senior Manager Quality and will be primarily responsible for leading team supporting operations and manufacturing processes, tooling and tool design, and equipment needed to successfully and economically produce assigned part/products in accordance with engineering specifications. As a member of the Quality Management team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:
Overseeing manufacturing engineering teams and developing/training the personnel that perform and support the plant operating functions.
Leading Torque tool implementation, assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, 3D printing and Test standard work creation
Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives.
Leading the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts.
Leading and Implementation of PinPoint to assembly areas, managing 3rd party contract employees for maintenance, fluids, and torque processes
Manages budget governance across business including, but not limited to, tool repair, maintenance, overtime, equipment install, equipment management

Maintain and develop EP Torque Strategy, EOL Test, Module Test, Cab Test, and Sound Test
Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience desired

Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.

• Performs routine maintenance: cleaning, replacing defective or worn parts.
• Performs basic care and safety considerations for a specific type of manufacturing equipment.
• Participates in setting up new machines and testing according to manufacturer's specifications.
• Uses standard diagnostic tools and techniques; resolves common problems.
• Conducts routine inspections; checks machine performance and equipment safeguards; reports standards violations.
