Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Systems Administrator within the Information Technology (IT) department located at the Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD. The Systems Administrator role is to install, configure, administer, monitor, and optimize the agency’s servers, local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Internet systems, and related components to achieve high availability and increased performance of the various business applications. This is achieved by monitoring, supporting, updating, and tuning all networked hardware, software, associated operating systems, and maintaining backups for data recovery and business recovery purposes. The Systems Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. Employees in this classification receive guidance and general supervision from the Manager, Network & Data Services.

Estimated Pay Range:

$70,718.27 - $97,237.61

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, plus five years related experience. Candidates may substitute additional related experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience to one year of education for up to four years of required education. Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points. Certifications a plus (A+, MCP, MCSE, VMware, Cisco, Network+ and Security +).
