Vice President, Growth & Strategy — Defense & Intelligence IT Business Area

Reports to: Senior Vice President, Growth (Sector)

Business Area Overview

The DIIT Business Area supports multiple Services (US Army, US Air Force, US Space Force) across the Department of War, the Intelligence Community, and Department of Homeland Security. From enterprise networks and cloud, to transport, applications, defensive cyber, and support of warfighter connectivity, our focus is providing full-scope digital modernization capabilities to meet our customer’s challenges of tomorrow.

Role Summary

This Vice President will be responsible for defining strategic growth trajectories and leading capture execution for the DIIT business domain. You will lead the team responsible for translating our customer’s digital modernization priorities into business opportunities, drive the team leading lead high-stakes capture efforts, and manage portfolio growth with a strategic and tactical focus. The role demands a visionary growth leader who understands the full growth lifecycle, from account management to capture, and can orchestrate innovation, partner ecosystems, and capture discipline to Grow the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive a 2–4 year growth roadmap for the portfolio, harmonized with sector-level objectives and evolving DIIT customer strategic priorities.
  • Oversee capture teams through all phases: opportunity identification, qualification, shaping strategies, win themes, teaming and bid development
  • Manage and optimize a robust opportunity pipeline; model scenario plans, investment tradeoffs, and resource alignment to maximize growth.
  • Inject innovative digital solutions into capture shaping and bid strategies.
  • Cultivate high-level relationships within the DIIT customer set to influence program direction and align Leidos’ value proposition.
  • Observe market trends, customer modernization strategies, competitor moves, and technology shifts; pivot growth plans accordingly.
  • Lead and mentor capture and BD leadership staff in this domain.
  • Participate in sector and corporate growth review forums, financial planning, risk assessment, and reporting.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) plus 15+ years of experience in government contracting, BD, capture, or strategic growth roles.
  • Prior experience leading captures of large-scale (>$500M+) captures
  • Proven success in growing and managing portfolios with sustained revenue growth.
  • Deep experience directly within DOD, IC, and DHS.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and business judgment skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills at senior and executive levels.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, matrixed teams.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain/hold Top Secret clearance (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (business, engineering, information systems).
  • Experience in growth, transformation, or innovation roles.
  • Public thought leadership or contributions in DoD IT modernization spaces.
  • Ability to translate disruptive technologies into credible capture strategies.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $223,800.00 - $360,000.00
