Procurement Manager

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to lead and transform procurement across our Nordics sales and service business (Denmark, Norway, Sweden), managing a spend of approx. 65M$ and playing a key role in driving margin expansion, supply chain resilience, and strategic supplier partnerships.

Role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic actions together with Xylem global category managers and local procurement teams in the Nordics. Role is also responsible for providing hands-on support for local procurement teams in larger commercial negotiations and key customer projects, while also being first level of escalation in case of unexpected events.

Role is reporting to our Regional Procurement Manager, and you will represent Procurement within Nordics local leadership team as well as being part of Xylem Global Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing spend of approximately 65 MUSD and achieving expected productivity, process improvements, working capital, risk reductions and secure full alignment with cross-functional business related targets.

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, group priorities and local business needs. Key spend areas are Pump stations, Control panels, Electrical hardware, Fabrications and Contractors.

  • Lead sourcing initiatives, evaluate and develop suppliers, and negotiate contracts to ensure quality, reliability and value.

  • Build strong supplier relationships, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure suppliers compliance with Xylems standards and policies

  • Develop and manage procurement budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring alignment with financial goals.

  • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities across procurement and end to end supply chain

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement roles, including at least 2 years in a people leadership role or equivalent experience such as category management

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced understanding of procurement systems and performance analysis.

  • Experience with SAP S4 Hana is meritorious as Xylem are rolling out this as our future ERP platform.

  • Experience managing budgets and driving cost optimization strategies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end projects, allocate resources effectively, and manage competing priorities
