How Will You Make an Impact?:

  • Align with Thermo Fisher Scientific safety policies and procedures in the warehouse by completing the safety training and accident preparedness. Bring potential safety issues to the attention of the Warehouse Group Leader and/or Site Manager. Be safe by understanding and using the safety processes and procedures outlined in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Safety protocols.
  • We help our customers’ mitigate risk, increase productivity, reduce costs, and achieve the highest quality standards so they can focus on what matters most developing and manufacturing life changing therapeutics. 



A Day in the Life:

  • Accurately perform material handling processes required to receive, store, pick and ship material.
  • Accurately perform the receiving inspections of inbound shipments and storage of products in designated warehouse locations.
  • Accurately perform order picking functions and prepare orders for shipment including required inspections of sales order and shipping manifest and inventory management.
  • Accurately perform required warehouse tasks such as warehouse equipment maintenance and calibration, temperature control monitoring, pest control and housekeeping requirements as directed by the facility leadership.
  • Learn and implement ISO 9001 D&I Quality System Procedures and Work Instructions as well as cGMP guidelines relevant to this position’s duties and responsibilities.
  • Meet the operational standards set forth in the Company’s and Distribution Services strategic yearly plan.
  • Understand and implement PPI Lean Leadership tools like Daily Management Board, 5S, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and Kaizen Events. Work to continually improve work process accuracy and efficiency.



Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.


Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience required
  • Forklift experience highly desirable, or must become forklift certified within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be able to handle materials: sit, stand, bend, lift up to 50lbs, walk, push/pull, drive forklift, operate warehouse equipment.
  • Warehouse, RF Computer scan experience, computer proficiency, quality cycle counts, logistics scheduling LTL, shipping, receiving, inventory management.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Prefer experience in warehousing and material handling. 
  • HAZMAT shipping experience desirable.
  • Ability to effectively interact with other disciplines within the Company such as Customer Service, Quality and Procurement. 
  • Have a “Customer Service” approach to relationships with internal and external associates.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $18.54–$27.81.
