Job Description:

We are offering a position as a Project Management Office Manager at Hitachi Energy. You as a team leader will be part of Transformers Business based in Vaasa, Finland. You will be leading the team of project managers and transformer export and logistics team for successful execution of power transformers projects and ensuring that all related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety and environment requirements, financial targets as well as schedule commitments.

Your responsibilities

  • You will be leading the team of Project Managers for successful execution of projects under assigned region or customer projects.
  • You will be leading the team of transformer delivery coordinators for successful logistics and delivery of projects.
  • You will coach and mentor the Project Managers and ensure their development plan is fulfilled per role qualifications requirements and career journey.
  • You will be ensuring that all project related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety and environment requirements, financial targets as well as schedule commitments. You will be building up strong relations with customers and managing customer satisfaction by on time execution of projects.
  • You will act as the escalation point for customer and support the project team and resolve the cross-function roadblocks and collaboration with functions.
  • You will actively manage work allocations and resource loading monitoring to achieve best outcomes.
  • You will be supervising project execution and performance management through project reviews with management and project managers to ensure contract fulfilment and approve any project deviations. You will take an active role in identifying risks, negotiate and resolve escalated issues especially those raised by the customer. You will be ensuring that the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and that projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.
  • You will take the lead of coordinating any customer request whether they are related to execution or additional requests to projects and take the lead for additional sales.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in industrial management, electrical engineering, or equivalent with strong technical background (project management qualifications are seen as plus).
  • Proven experience in project management within the electrical industry needed.
  • Preferably experience in engineer to order project execution for instance for substation projects or similar projects related to design, supply, installation of high voltage equipment.
  • Possess strong leadership skills and ability to lead the team and convince stakeholders in the interest of the project.
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver the projects with time, cost, and quality.
  • Experience of SAP or another ERP platform knowledge is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in project deliverables.
  • Capability to develop work practices and to take lessons learned and implement them into the processes.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines and excellent collaboration and work with cross functional and cross-cultural team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and challenges.
  • Strong communication skill in Finnish and in English.
