Position Overview
The Clinical Training Specialist will work in conjunction with the Clinical Service Manager, Territory Manager, Customer Care, Clinical Business Manager, District Sales Manager, Managed Care team, Sales Training, Regional Business Director, and Insulet’s Customer base as appropriate in order to meet the commercial and clinical needs in their assigned District/Territory for the purpose of increasing referrals and sustaining patients on Omnipod portfolio of product. This CTS position will report directly to the Regional Business Director with a dotted line to the Clinical Business Manager to support District and Territory clinical needs.
The Clinical Training Specialist (CTS) is primarily responsible for training patients within an assigned territory, District, or Region based on CSM needs, vacancies, or leave of absence. This position requires meeting all clinical initiative expectations to be determined quarterly based on business needs. The CTS will follow up with each prescriber post-training for support, education, data management training, and identification of new customer starts. When applicable the CTS will provide product sales, data management, and clinical support in accordance with company policy to physicians, mid-level staff, CDCESs, and ancillary staff on the Omnipod Insulin Management Systems. The CTS will build partnerships with our customers and be expertly skilled at selling and using the Omnipod Insulin Management Systems.
Target customers will include physicians, mid-level staff (NPs and PAs), dietitians, nurses, technicians, administrators, office staff, sales personnel, and others whose responsibilities may require the need for knowledgeable support of the Omnipod Insulin Management Systems.
Responsibilities
Promotes the insightful features and benefits of CSII therapy and sells Omnipod Insulin Management Systems to patients and providers in group and/or individual sessions, virtually and in person, or as a continuing education offering.
Works to achieve a minimum of 3 individual trainings per day in person, or separate group trainings per day virtually with a high level of success within the targeted physicians/accounts assigned. The targeted goal is 20+ trainings per week.
Displays good written and verbal communication with Regional Business Director and/or Clinical Business Manager and District Sales Manager for updates in the territory and progress on Top 60 Physicians/Accounts.
Communicates frequently with Territory Manager on territory needs and updates on progress.
Assist with events such as pump clinics, pump support groups, info sessions, in-the-office educational events, patient info nights, JDRF walks, vendor days, including Kaiser Permanente Medical Groups.
Evaluates and recommends Certified Pod Trainers (CPTs) and Level 3 CPTs who wish to become consultant CPTs for Insulet Corporation.
Initiates and completes retention pathway follow-up within 30 days of initiation at greater than 80%.
May assign patient training to CPTs or conduct patient training based on the business needs of the territory, overall costs, and timeliness of training.
Assist with providing regular product demos to patients and HCPs as required.
Displays comfort in open dialog with Physicians and understands the importance of engagement and closing for action.
Ability to understand and explain pump data management to work in conjunction with the HCPs for superior patient outcomes.
Provide field feedback to the RBD, DSM, and CBM on field-based training of customers and HCPs as needed.
Ability to perform administrative duties, concur expenses and complete on a timely basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree
2+ years’ experience in a clinical setting and/or managing diabetes and pump patients
Professional, up-to-date credentials and/or certifications (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Registered Dietitian (RD), or Registered Nurse (RN), PharmD, or other clinical credentials and/or certifications; state licensure (as required per state)
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Bilingual
Prior experience in a commercial role in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
Additional Information
Must reside within the geographic area of the assigned area
Overnight and amount of air travel varies by territory, typically 80% virtual and up to 20% in person required to attend meetings and travel for District coverage
Ability to lift, carry and transport up to 30 lbs., professional sales samples and literature

For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary for this role is $100,000. This position is eligible for incentive compensation.
