About the role
- Opportunity to work with a young adult patients cohort (targeting- predominantly aged 16-25 year olds) with high prevalence mental disorders, including an inpatient OCD program
- Opportunity to participate in a an pioneering private sector innovation/R&D program with translational mental health interventions in use, like including:
- MRI-guided TMS program for TRD and OCD (uniquely radiology clinic based)
- A patient-centred, shared care, data-driven digital platform enhancing mental health care by that includes using specialist-grade education, clinical care pathways (specific for our service-specific young adult service, interventional and diagnostic), clinical indicator/outcome measurement tools, management plans, and a 2D exposure therapy for OCD intervention
- Scent-enabled VR exposure therapy intervention for OCD being developed in the service
- Other innovative interventions in planning stage such as AI-guided psychometric tools
- Opportunity to be supervised by RANZCP accredited private practice training advocate A/Prof Gary Galambos (Generalist trainees) or Dr Richard Baker (Advanced C&A trainees)
- Opportunity to gain experience managing outpatients as well as inpatients
- Opportunity to Collaborating collaborate with organisations such as the Medical School, UNDA, and the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation.

In this role you will be based at St Vincent’s private hospital, Darlinghurst.

- Highly specialized services in orthopedics, heart and lung surgery, head and neck surgery, neurosurgery, urology, vascular surgery, upper GI/hepatobiliary surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, colorectal surgery, gynaecology, neurology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, cancer services and mental health
- USpace is a purpose-built mental health facility with 20 single rooms, day services and on-site consulting suites
- Uspace is Australia’s first private mental health service, targeted to the needs of young adults aged 16 to 30.
About you
- Year 5 Psychiatry Registrar (Generalist or Advanced C&A) – ideally interested in entering the private sector
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient centred focus
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development
- Professional in your manner with a warm, non-judgmental, and compassionate demeanor
- Capability to thrive in a supportive team environment and have a keen interest in collaborating with like-minded individuals
- General Registration with AHPRA
