GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The VP Physician Network & Business Development is accountable for providing leadership in the development and execution of physician recruitment, acquisition and development strategies which deliver predictable and sustainable growth in membership and margin. The incumbent is accountable for the development of the value proposition supporting Allegheny Health Network within the scope of the marketplace. This individual will ensure that market forces, customer needs and competitive challenges are well understood by the leadership team in an effort to effectively influence the strategic planning process.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities including, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.

  • Accountable for the creation of a clear AHN physician recruitment, acquisition and development strategy which delivers member and margin growth. Drives initiatives to increase effectiveness, launching products and services that the marketplace demands and strategically positioning products and services.

  • Establish a process for contemporary, comprehensive business rigor and review with all business analysis, planning and development activities, including measurable and strategically aligned ROI both at Allegheny Clinic level and the network level.

  • Lead due diligence, financial modeling, and negotiation for new ventures, service expansions, and external partnerships.

  • Build and lead a combined Provider Recruitment and Development team, unifying staff from both legacy functions into a high-performing, network-focused unit.
    Partner with leadership and collaborate to provide domain and market insights and trends, and to advise on talent for their most exigent business needs.

  • Partner with Physician Chairs to support engagement and coordinated care delivery as it relates to growth and development.

  • Drive growth of the Allegheny Clinic through strategic service line development, new practice integration, and development of new access points.

  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.   

  • 5 - 7 years of Management experience

  • 5 - 7 years of Strategic Planning/Corporate Development experience

  • 5 - 7 years of Project Management experience

  • 5 years of prior Sales or Account Services

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management
