Position: Senior Database Administrator (multiple openings)

Job Location: 2603 Camino Ramon, Suite 200, San Ramon, CA 94583 (& allows telecommuting)

With a high level of independent decision making authority and minimum supervision, the Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the following job duties.

1. Administer and optimize Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres databases in multi-cloud
environments, ensuring seamless integration with AWS, GCP, and Azure services.
2. Provide expert guidance on database architecture, storage, partitioning, and high- availability configurations (RAC and Data Guard).
3. Oversee "Day 2" operations, including advanced performance tuning, proactive monitoring, database patching, backup and recovery strategies, and security hardening.
4. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex database issues, ensuring root cause analysis and timely resolution.
5. Stay updated on emergency database technologies, cloud-native tools, and Oracle advancements to recommend modern solutions to clients.
6. Implement and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recover (DR) setups, such as Oracle Data Guard and GoldenGate replication, across cloud platforms.
7. Perform capacity planning, resource allocation, and optimization to maintain database scalability and cost efficiency.
8. Ensure compliance with security standards, enforcing database encryption, auditing, and user privilege management.
9. Lead large-scale database migration projects, including on-prem to cloud and inter-cloud migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
10. Develop detailed migration plans, leveraging tools like RMAN, Oracle Data Pump, Data Guard, and GoldenGate for secure and efficient transitions.
11. Train and mentor junior DBAs, enabling skill development and ensuring adherence to best practices.
12. Represent client requirements internally to engineering and product teams, ensuring alignment with technical priorities.

This position allows telecommuting from the U.S.

This position requires a U.S. bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in CS, IT, CE, or closely related, and five (5) years of progressive professional experience as a Database Administrator or closely related occupation.

Must have professional experience with:
1. Database Migration tools and methodologies: RMAN, Data Pump, Oracle Data Guard, and GoldenGate;
2. AWS and Azure database services, including RDS, EC2-based database hosting, and Azure SQL Managed Instances;
3. Shell scripting (Bash, Python, and Ansible); and
4. Monitoring tools (OEM, CloudWatch).

Salary: $152,110- $155,000 per year; Full Time
