Overview:

Responsible for drafting treaties/amendment and agreements in a timely manner to support the execution of won deals and support corporate tasks in order to meet functional objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares treaties/amendments/addenda and any other related contract documents (e.g. letter of intent, confidentiality agreement, service agreement etc.), using best practices standard treaty template, that accurately reflects the underlying quote and are in line with appropriate treaty process and guidelines;
  • Evaluates client prepared documents and propose necessary recommendations for change, resolve and/or escalate differences and inconsistencies in comparison to RGA’s best practice wordings ensuring all issues are appropriately addressed;
  • Obtains comments, necessary approvals and responds to treaty related inquiries internally/externally;
  • Maintains contact and build relationships with legal and treaty resources;
  • Ensure treaty templates and clauses are completed and approved as required and meet the needs of the business unit and comply with Divisional standards, local regulations and business practices;
  • Completes Signature Request Form (SRF) for treaty documents and obtains authorized signatures for the treaty finalization;
  • Sends treaty documents to clients for signature and follow up;
  • Monitors status of outstanding documentation to ensure service standards are met and report/escalate to management as required;
  • Updates TIMS (Treaty Information Management System) throughout the process and ensures final TIMS entry is completed and accurate;
  • Assists in preparation for, negotiation on and resolving disputes/lawsuits;
  • Collect client information and perform client due diligence as required by anti-laundry regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or above;
  • Major in law or related;
  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience in treaty work; knowledge of the life insurance/reinsurance industry, types of reinsurance arrangements and reinsurance treaty provisions will be viewed favorably; 
  • Ability of technical writing and editing;
  • Advanced written communication skills in English, in particular a persuasion skill to resolve issues/problems is an advantage;
  • Highly organized and ability to meet tight deadlines;
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, serious and responsible, ability to multitask and work independently;
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills, strong spirit of teamwork;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes;
  • Good command of computer skills such as MS Word and Excel
