People, Culture and Communications - Wellbeing & Workplace Relations oversees Telstra's wellbeing and workplace relations programs.
About the Role
As the Safety, Security, Wellbeing (SSW) Communications Specialist, you will identify and leverage opportunities to promote Telstra’s Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environment (HSWE) initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. Your role is instrumental in developing engaging communications and initiatives to promote HSWE to our people. You will create content in various formats, including written statements, video content, and social media material, to effectively communicate the importance of health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental matters.
The SSW Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in contributing to the business strategy by fostering a culture where employees are aware of safety and security risks and feel empowered to address them. By developing user-centric content and promoting relevant programs, you help instil foundational safety and sustainability literacy across Telstra. Your role also involves supporting internal events and webinars, creating video content for internal and external use, and managing updates to our social media channels to encourage engagement.
Your key responsibilities include:
Proactively creating content to promote and engage our people on the importance of health, safety, security, and wellbeing.
Preparing communications content in various formats, including written statements, video content, and social media material (Viva Engage).
Coordinating initiatives that drive culture across all business units.
Preparing user-centric content for fortnightly communications and activities.
Creating content (e.g., video content) showcasing internal engagement initiatives.
Managing content collation for the internal newsletter and drafting content.
Managing Telstra’s Safety Security and Wellbeing intranet page and content.
Updating the Viva Engage channel and implementing ways to encourage engagement.
Working with business units and product teams to create video content for internal and external use.
Managing the HSWE Calendar of Events.
Supporting the coordination of internal events and webinars.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications:
5 years of experience working within the health and safety sector
Experience shaping ideas and delivering campaigns across traditional and innovative forums/platforms
Evidence of managing and driving internal communications in a large business
A strong communications background with demonstrated strategic and technical communications planning capabilities
A deep understanding of how to increase engagement on HSWE matters
Experience using online (web) and/or social media for stakeholder communication and engagement
