Staff VP Carelon Growth & Medical Expense Management

Location:   The ideal candidate will be within a 50-mile commuting distance of an Elevance Health office, preferably in Indianapolis, IN, Woodland Hills, CA, Atlanta, GA, Mason, OH, Norfolk, VA, or Richmond, VA.

Summary

Responsible for the development and execution of the Carelon’s growth strategy primarily focused on overseeing and driving strategic planning and execution for Carelon Health’s cost of care initiatives.  Responsible to understand, analyze, manage, and reduce cost of health care services at Carelon Health creating value optimization for both Elevance Health and our clients.

Position Responsibilities

  • Leads the strategy formation, planning and execution, and ensure accountability for Carelon’s initiatives to reduce cost spend

  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams. to create and execute detailed planning schedules, assigning priority to cost of care program investment that considerably migrate cost trends

  • Promotes careful management of incremental costs in care progress to meet both immediate and future financial targets

  • Develops state-specific, business partner-specific and overall enterprise cost of care savings targets to optimize bottom-line impact of the cost of care programs working with all of our COC business partners.

  • Accountable for enterprise/local Cost of Care leads in the development, planning, prioritization, approval, and implementation of new and innovative cost of care programs.

  • Creates and drives a culture of collaboration enabling leaders and associates alike to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assesses talent and makes key decisions to hire and retain the best talent to drive results; serves as a talent incubator for the enterprise.

  • Leads a successful and transformative shift to a mission driven culture.

Position Requirements

  • BS/BA degree. MBA, MHA, MA preferred.

  • Financial, business and leadership acumen with 10-year relevant experience or combination education/experience.

  • Requires travel up to 20 percent.

Corporate Title: Staff VP Carelon Growth

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $198,400.00 to $357,120.00.
