Our Professional Services practice is looking for a dynamic and results oriented Account Manager to join our Mid-Market practice. This is an ideal role for someone who is hands on and client centric, focused on retention and growth. This is a great opportunity to work in a specialty practice and to grow the book of business.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage an assigned book of business

  • Effective communication with commercial clients

  • Creating effective strategies to address client transactions, negotiations and ability to lead discussions.

  • Coverage design/analysis: coverage triggers, definitions, exclusions, claims made treatment, and continuity

  • Assume various roles dependent on account: marketing, account back up, lead broker etc.

  • Marketing: Identifies the client or prospects’ circumstances and placing their deal in the marketplace.

  • Participating in Underwriter conference calls and client meetings

  • Helping clients select amongst competing quotes

  • Participates in formal presentations at the C-Level

  • Provides feedback for the annual budget planning process

  • Collaboration with account team including coaching and mentoring

Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent

  • RIBO Licensed

  • 3+ years of commercial brokerage experience

  • Experience using Epic broker management system or other BMS

  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Ability to manage and mentor support staff

  • Strong organizational, time and client management skills

  • Effective communication skills: verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Proactive and customer focused approach

  • Resourceful research skills

  • Analytical and strong decision-making skills

  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance industry trends

The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure, i.e., base salary plus commission. As such, the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidate’s book of business at a particular time. The expected base salary for this position is $54,000 to $65,000 plus commissions will be paid based on successful sales performance. The total compensation will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
