Position is responsible for leading the planning and execution of internal and external programs for the Meetings & Events Team in India that facilitate desired business objectives and outcomes. Professional should be experienced, self-motivated and capability of coordinating program logistics in a fast-paced environment. The MET manager should have a love for meeting management, provide outstanding customer service and be an enthusiastic professional.

Job Profile Responsibilities (key responsibilities)

  • Leads MET team members to collaborate and work with internal business partners to understand program goals and objectives and facilitate supporting meeting strategy and execution.
  • Manages venue site searches, makes venue recommendation(s) based on most cost effectiveness, best service and value and negotiates venue contracts.
  • Manages the planning process for all event logistics including, but not limited to: sourcing, hotel room blocks, food & beverage, audio visual equipment, entertainment, external speakers, ground transportation, event signage/graphic needs and décor.
  • Effectively communicates responsibilities and due dates to the planning team to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage the development of event registration websites and mobile apps in Cvent (if needed).
  • Researches, plans and executes off-site program activities such as dinners, cruises, golf outings, etc.
  • Negotiates with vendors throughout the planning process to secure favorable rates and terms; holds them accountable for delivery.
  • Manages post event reconciliation to include final venue billing, vendor invoices, negotiated cost savings, attendee reports, attendee surveys, and program budget.
  • Stays current on industry trends and recommends adoption as appropriate to improve the planning process and attendee experience.
  • Travel as needed for venue site visits, planning meetings and to manage and execute programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to travel.
  • Proficient skill level in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Required
  • Cvent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience planning meetings and events and hotel/venue on-site execution.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and attention to detail.
  • Pleasant demeanor and ability to build relationships with colleagues and external vendors.

  • Associates degree preferred
