Job Purpose
The Medical Operations Manager will lead country medical excellence and operations managers, ensuring support to sub-region medical teams for excellent execution of medical affairs activities. The role involves close collaboration with the Commercial Strategy & Operations team to identify strategies and tactics that enable the Medical team to deliver greater value to customers and stakeholders. Acting as chief of staff to the Area Medical Head, the role ensures that medical strategy, innovation, and performance initiatives are executed effectively across the sub-region.
Your Responsibilities:
This role gives YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, the main of these are:
Project and Event Management: Plan, organize, and support key projects, events, and high-impact activities (e.g., webinars, symposia, advisory boards) for medical teams, ensuring alignment with regional priorities.
Initiative Rollout and Communication: Cascade Global Medical Affairs (GMA) and Emerging Markets (EM) medical initiatives/projects, ensuring clear and effective information sharing across Local Operating Company (LOC) medical teams.
Operational Excellence and Leadership: Organize medical leadership meetings (agenda, minutes, action log, follow-ups) and work closely with teams to improve operations, tracking key medical performance metrics against business objectives.
Resource and Budget Oversight: Manage the tracking, analysis, and reporting of budgets and headcount across all teams to support efficient resource allocation.
Content and Documentation Management: Provide Content Lab support for NX materials/documents and assist in audit preparedness (e.g., Scientific Engagement operations, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption processes, Zinc, Medical Information systems).
Strategic Planning Support: Assist in Annual Business Planning (ABP) process across therapeutic areas and collaborate with medical teams to drive continuous operational improvement.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these characteristics to achieve our goals:
Advanced university degree in science, business, or management.
5 years in the pharmaceutical industry; experience with medical and scientific affairs teams is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively with local teams.
Proven track record of managing multiple, complex projects successfully.
Experience in system administration, with exceptional planning, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
Fluency in English, with advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong ability to comprehend scientific concepts and issues, complemented by exceptional project and people management skills.
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, and effective project management.
Familiarity with governance and compliance frameworks is highly desirable and considered an added advantage.
This role is based in Panama and requires on-site presence with flexibility for hybrid working arrangements.
