The Operations Finance Manager/Sr. Manager will play a critical role in providing financial insights and guidance to support the company's strategic operational initiatives. This role requires a highly skilled individual with a strong background in financial analysis, modeling, and reporting, particularly within manufacturing and supply chain. The ideal candidate will be an advanced user of Excel and have experience with JDEdwards, Power BI, Business Objects, financial modeling, month-end financial analysis, and working with multiple data sources and cross capability. Relationship building, curiosity, and a lifelong learning mindset are critical. This role requires 20% travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Lead month-end financial analysis and provide detailed commentary on financial performance.
  • Conduct volume, mix, and rate analysis to support business decisions.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and trends and providing insights that lead to profitable action.

Financial Modeling:

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models for capital expenditure (CapEx) justification and other strategic initiatives.
  • Provide financial forecasts and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.

Data Management & Analytics:

  • Serve as an advanced Excel user, leveraging advanced functions and tools to analyze large datasets.
  • Utilize Power BI and Business Objects to create and maintain dashboards and reports, progressing from an intermediate to an advanced user.
  • Integrate and analyze data from multiple sources to derive actionable insights.

Strategic Planning & Implementation:

  • Apply strategic frameworks to financial planning and operational initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the finance and operations functions.
  • Implement best practices and standardize financial processes across the organization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and other operational departments.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to senior management and other stakeholders to drive business performance.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a focus on operations finance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
  • Intermediate user of Power BI with the ability to grow into an advanced user.
  • Proven experience in financial modeling for CapEx justifications.
  • Strong background in month-end financial analysis, volume, mix, and rate analysis.
  • Exposure to strategic frameworks and experience in their implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working with multiple data sources and integrating data for analysis.
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or similar sectors is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced user of Power BI.
  • Experience with JDEdwards, SAP Business Objects or similar ERP systems and financial software.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and trends.
