The Associate Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing the roadmap for one or more product areas including lifecycle management, leading ideation and innovation, and delivering performance through a cross-functional team.  They must ensure that their product areas deliver customer and business value and work with their Product Manager, Director and other product leaders to ensure that the value is well articulated, communicated, and understood by both customers and internal stakeholders.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

  • Collaborate with your Product Manager(s), Directors, other product leaders, and key stakeholders throughout the organization to execute the strategy for the products you work on.
  • Own the user experience associated with the product areas under your management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of your users’ needs and become an expert in the customers and users of the product you work on.
  • Work to ensure that your product initiatives are aligned and integrated with the overall vision and roadmap for your products.
  • Recommend business-building opportunities, including product enhancements, interface improvements, business development ideas, marketing tactics, etc.
  • Participate in rich discovery processes, including market opportunities, user/customer research and prototyping to identify, evaluate and define features and functionality that are valuable to your users.
  • Create clear, concise, and complete user stories; grow and refine product backlog working with your Product Manager(s) and Directors to prioritize against short- and long-term value delivery.
  • Collaborate with Design, Development, QA and other team members throughout product definition and project delivery to ensure releases deliver defined functionality.
  • Measure and communicate performance against product KPIs.
  • Assist with training stakeholders, including Operations and Sales / Business Development, on new features and functionality.
  • Prepare documentation of procedures, processes, and product features, as necessary to contribute to the overall knowledge base and understanding of the products you work on.
  • Work with your Product Manager, Director and other key stakeholders, taking direction as appropriate, but ultimately owning responsibility for your product areas.
  • Bring innovation to bear on the company's products and their ability to serve customers/users.
  • Evaluate partner/competitor activities and make recommendations based on your observations and understanding of relevant markets.
  • Facilitate, manage, and constantly improve upon all team Agile development ceremonies.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of digital software management experience with proven, measurable success in developing and expanding products.
  • 2+ years of experience with AGILE development methodologies.
  • Experience in insurance, warranty, managed services, or mobile/wireless industry is a plus.
  • Experience in B2B SAAS and/or API-first businesses preferred.
  • Direct experience and passion for building mobile experiences including strong knowledge of the mobile consumer space and app ecosystems (iOS, Android).
  • Thrive in a self-start environment where you accomplish company and product goals through teamwork.
  • Experience in gathering detailed product requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting.
  • Relentless desire for innovation balanced with customer expectations.
  • Must be focused on customer/user needs and experience.
  • Must be able to evaluate and make recommendations that balance business priorities against the needs of customers, users, internal constituents, and business partners.
  • Excellent creativity, innovation, management and organizational skills.
  • Metrics and outcome driven; bias towards testing, measuring results, and iterating for maximum growth efficiency; experience in using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of customer and business value.
  • Technical fluency; comfortable discussing tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; proven ability to guide cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management.
  • Superb follow-through, problem-solving and communications skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence, and/or other similar tools.
  • Experience working with Figma, Adobe XD and/or other similar UX/UI design tools.

Pay Range:

$71,300.00 - $119,100.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
