A Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow is required to coordinate concurrent research projects in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Lim Jue Tao.
This project, led by the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMed), Nanyang Technological University, will be conducted in collaboration with the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH), National University of Singapore, Singapore General Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the National Centre for Infectious Diseases. This position will offer a multidisciplinary and unique collaborative environment with diverse learning opportunities. The successful applicant(s) will work as part of a large and energetic team investigating health at the interface of clinical epidemiology and infectious diseases in local and international contexts. The successful candidate will work together with the PI to coordinate and lead a large research project on understanding acute and post-acute complications and burdens stemming from dengue infection.
This position is based in Clinical Sciences Building, Nanyang Technological University.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop models to understand the short to long-term burden of infectious diseases
Coordinate and advice a large research team
Undertake and direct literature reviews
Lead the analysis of large-scale population level data sets using statistical and data science techniques
Provide statistical and mathematical modelling advice to junior researchers
Lead the writing reports, presentations, and publication of results and findings in peer-reviewed journal
Generate research questions
Collaborate with researchers in other national and international institutions
Coordinate a large research team to drive multiple research projects
Competencies and Qualification Requirements:
PhD or equivalent in a related discipline. I.e statistics/epidemiology/data science. Post-graduate qualifications in other quantitative disciplines are welcome to apply
Background and research experience in epidemiology
Ability to communicate findings effectively
Ability to work in a diverse and large team of researchers
Well-organized and has an eye for detail
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Possess the ability to lead and work effectively in teams
Have excellent proficiency in Statistical software (R)
It would be desirable for the candidate to:
Have excellent proficiency in other programming languages, for example Python/C/C++
Have previous experience in leading large, multi-institutional projects
Strong publication track record in infectious diseases and health data science
