About the Role & Team

We are hiring a HR Specialist to support Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI)! The position will be based in Lake Buena Vista, FL. If you're ready for an opportunity of a lifetime, we'd love to hear from you!

The Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) HR Specialist serves as a key member of the WDI HR team, supporting a broad range of HR projects, workstreams, and service requests. The person in this role uses their deep understanding of TWDC, DX, WDI and industry HR policies, processes and practices to maximize the impact of HR business partnerships. The person in this role has the ability to synthesize a wide range of information, organize and prioritize a dynamic array of needs, communicate effectively, and deliver extraordinary service and results.

The person in this role works with leaders, team members, and functional subject matter experts to complete tasks and help drive continuous improvements. They have the ability to take ambiguous situations and provide clarity. They serve as a point of contact for client-related questions and business issues including but not limited to HR policies, processes, leaves of absence, corrective actions and staffing needs involving hiring approvals and position management. They may serve as a sounding board for Imagineers, helping to appropriately interpret/apply HR policies, processes and practices. They are expected to assess, prioritize and act on requests in a timely fashion, track/report progress, and communicate needs that require additional support to the appropriate source.

What You Will Do

  • In partnership with HR leadership, Organization Management, and Global HR Operations (GHRO), support resource planning processes and reporting
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships across the WDI HR organization, cross-functional HR partners, and client groups
  • Assist in advising/providing guidance in the administration of HR related policies and procedures, to include:
  • Position Management – in partnership with GHRO and the Segment Org management team
  • Organizational chart management for client areas (where applicable as this is sometimes done by the business)
  • Administration of local recognition programs and employee development offerings
  • Provides information to leaders and HRBP’s in the development of talent solutions, resources for career development, client specific learning opportunities and/or job descriptions for recruitment
  • Proactively document, organize, and maintain standards, best practices and protocols related to HR policy administration
  • Provide reports on HR projects/research and present information to a variety of leaders, peers, clients and partners, showing key findings and recommendations
  • Coordinate vetting of Imagineers for special events and speaking engagements
  • Coordinate and Support on-boarding and off-boarding activities
  • Support Intern programming and events as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an HR client facing professional role.
  • Strong service orientation with a demonstrated ability to effectively partner – both internally and externally
  • Solid knowledge of HR systems, policies and processes including: SAP (Display HR Master Data, Org hierarchy overview, and Display position), Workday, hiring approval process, performance management process, and talent and succession planning processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
  • Approachable style; ability to connect with employees and establish rapport
  • Proven ability to work with confidential information – while exercising sound judgment and decision making
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment while being flexible, adaptable and demonstrating an ability to problem solve
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Project, and Planner
  • Ability to effectively manage project work while balancing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Smartsheets, Visio, Tableau
  • Experience with Success Factors

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
