MUFG Securities is seeking a Vice President, Fixed Income Structuring to join their Hong Kong team, offering you the opportunity to play a pivotal role within the Structured Trading Group. What you'll do:
As Vice President, Fixed Income Structurer based in Hong Kong, you will play an integral part in shaping the future direction of the Structured Trading Group in the region. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating closely with colleagues across multiple regions to ensure that all activities are aligned with both local and international strategies. You will be entrusted with pricing complex structured products for clients while maintaining strong communication with the trading team. Your ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders—both internally and externally—will be crucial as you work together towards shared goals. Success in this role will require you to demonstrate diligence in risk management practices, contribute innovative ideas for improving client offerings or pricing frameworks, and proactively support franchise growth initiatives. By taking ownership of key processes and supporting others within your team, you will help maintain high standards of operational excellence while driving forward new business opportunities.
Contribute actively to the execution of desk strategy by aligning daily activities with international business objectives and consistently meeting or exceeding both financial and non-financial targets.
Ensure strict adherence to departmental mandates while managing controls related to firm exposure and limits as prescribed by Risk Management and established by the Risk Management Committee.
Conduct all business activities in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of compliance at all times.
Foster strong working relationships between the Structured Trading Group and key stakeholders across business, control, and infrastructure teams globally to support seamless operations.
Participate in effective management of direct budget expenditures where required, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.
Collaborate closely with broader teams across Global Markets, Corporate Investment Banking, and other divisions to develop business opportunities on a global scale.
Price structured products for clients with precision while maintaining a deep understanding of underlying risks associated with each transaction.
Achieve assigned profit and loss targets by leveraging market insights and client relationships to maximise profitability from the group’s customer franchise.
Identify, monitor, and escalate risks across your product domain as appropriate, ensuring compliance with approved risk limits and regulatory frameworks such as Volcker, EMIR, and MIFID.
Support franchise development by delivering sustainable client-focused solutions in partnership with Sales, Trading, Research, and other parts of the organisation.
What you bring:
To excel as Vice President, Fixed Income Structuring, you will bring substantial experience from leading financial institutions where you have developed deep expertise in fixed income structuring or related fields. Your background should include hands-on involvement in supporting sales efforts for non-linear products as well as direct responsibility for pricing complex derivatives. A solid academic foundation—ideally at university level or higher—will underpin your technical proficiency. Beyond technical skills, your interpersonal strengths will set you apart: clear communication enables you to connect effectively with colleagues at all levels; empathy ensures that stakeholder needs are understood; dependability means others can trust you with critical tasks. At least four years’ experience working at major financial institutions with proven exposure to fixed income markets or structured trading environments.
Demonstrated ability supporting sales teams in marketing non-linear products primarily on the asset side within complex financial markets.
Proven track record in pricing complex derivatives—particularly those related to rates or hybrid products—using advanced methodologies.
Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets and instruments including derivatives; able to apply this expertise effectively within a fast-evolving landscape.
Excellent communication skills enabling you to collaborate efficiently across diverse teams while presenting complex information clearly.
Strong numerical abilities supported by proficient Microsoft Excel skills for accurate analysis and reporting.
Diligent approach towards risk management; disciplined in adhering to internal controls as well as external regulatory requirements.
Results-oriented mindset combined with a sense of accountability for achieving both individual and team objectives within agreed timelines.
Proactive attitude towards identifying process improvements or new business opportunities; motivated by continuous learning and professional development.
