A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the team at DWR Veterinary Specialists as an Anaesthesia Intern.

With a large, varied and exciting caseload, we are seeking one colleague to join our Anaesthesia Team.

This internship aims to provide a practical hands-on training experience within anaesthesia, gaining practical clinical experience and learning within a referral practice environment.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of specialists, residents and interns (cardiology, cardiac surgery, clinical and anatomical pathology, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, physiotherapy and soft tissue surgery).

As an intern, you will will work with 4 residents in anaesthesia and analgesia and receive direct training and supervision from our 5 ECVAA/ACVAA Diplomates, 2 post-residency clinicians and 4 dedicated anaesthesia nurses.

Interns will participate in hospital rounds, journal clubs, book clubs and are encouraged to attend continuing professional development sessions provided by senior members of staff and to be enrolled in research. Belonging to Linnaeus, there will also be a large amount of teaching and research resources.

The successful candidate will benefit from both a busy and dynamic clinical environment and formal training. The intern will work under the supervision of a veterinary anaesthesia specialist or a resident and will be expected to participate in the out of hours anaesthesia provision as “second on call’ alongside a senior anaesthetist or an anaesthesia resident.

The successful candidate will be expected to start as soon as possible (exact date to be discussed). This is one year fixed term position.

Salary Value: £37,000 per annum;
