Works under the supervision of the Director of Quality and the Medical Staff Office Coordinator to manage and coordinate the credentialing and recredentialing process. Works collaboratively with the Quality Department Staff to support the quality program and initiatives, including compliance with accreditation standards and survey preparation and participation.
This position is mostly remote but will involve in-person requirements.

Requirements:

- High school diploma/GED or higher education

- Associates degree preferred

- Must live in the State of Michigan

Primary Responsibility for Credentialing and Recredentialing

  • Processes Responsible for the processing of all Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals applications for credentialing and recredentialing in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, accreditation standards, and state/federal law.

Credentials Committee Support

  • Provides support to the Credentials Committee, including preparing files for review, development of the agenda, taking minutes, and follow up as needed.
  • Provides the Committee with current best practice and benchmark information to assist with continuous improvement and development of privilege and proctoring criteria.
  • Attends other Medical Staff meetings as directed.

Data Management

  • Develops and maintains a filing system and electronic database that ensures credentialing information is organized, easily accessible by authorized individuals, and stored in accordance with HH confidentiality policies/procedures.
  • Performs standard and advanced administrative duties for the medical staff office as needed.
  • Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Policies, and Accreditation Standards Maintains working knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and accreditation and regulatory requirements, to serve as a resource to Medical Staff and the organization.
  • Assists with compliance to accreditation standards and survey preparation.

Monitoring and Communication

  • Communicates Medical Staff and AHP approvals and any changes in status in a timely manner throughout the organization as appropriate.
  • Prepares reports as needed regarding credentialing activity.
