SUMMARY

The Store Process Engineer is responsible for the development of ideas, planning, and execution of all store engineering and cost reduction projects. This position has the task of looking for every opportunity to simplify all store processes to take inefficiencies and related costs out of the current processes and by applying engineering design support and Lean / 6 Sigma methodology (DMAIC) to identify improvement opportunities. Additional responsibilities include partnering with Store Operations and Training to provide cross functional project support. As process change ideas are implemented, the Engineer will also be responsible for creating process documentation with Store Operations and Training. The Store Process Engineer is responsible for in store processes affecting more than 800 locations.

JOB DUTIES

  • Create, Plan and Implement (new and improvements to existing) ideas.
  • Manage process improvement projects to completion, following DMAIC methodology.
  • Creates and validates existing in-store time standards.
  • Write store communications.
  • Derive meaningful information from large sets of data and produces an actionable summary.
  • Prepares, maintains, and updates all new engineering documentation relating to new processes implemented.
  • Partner / Build relationship with the field including during Store visits.
  • Ensures Training has the best methods in place.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE  

Education Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field

Education Preferred: Lean / 6 Sigma Green Belt Certification

Experience Minimum0-2 years of Lean / 6 Sigma related experience

Experience Preferred 3-5 years of related experience and/or 6+ years of retail store operations preferred.

  • Exceptional analytical skills to dissect complex problems and devise effective solutions
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Ability to conduct rigorous data analysis, and the application of statistical methods to understand process variations and optimize performance
  • Ability to collaborate across the company
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
