What you will do

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems. As an SRE, you will combine software engineering practices with systems administration to build and maintain large-scale, highly available systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance, cost-effective, and reliable systems.
  • Build and manage automation tools for deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting; and maintain run-time operations, improve efficiency, provide non-disruptive releases
  • Select and utilize appropriate automated testing tools for different testing types (unit, integration, performance, etc.). Develop and implement comprehensive test automation frameworks.
  • Develop deep, full-stack knowledge of our platforms and applications. Maintain application reliability and uptime SLAs using programmatic self-healing and software automation
  • Collaborate with development teams to analyze and improve system reliability and performance.
  • Respond to incidents and outages, providing timely resolutions.
  • Work with other SRE’s and test engineers at Amgen and help lead and evolve the best testing automation practices

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Working experience with various cloud services on AWS (Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong programing skills in language such as Python. Working experience of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Working experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
  • Proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, pytest).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working experienced with API integration, serverless, microservices architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and networking.
  • Working experience with DevOps/MLOps practice and CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid knowledge of big data platform, experience with large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience maintaining the site reliability with near 100% uptime of critical applications, globally
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical skills; Ability to learn quickly; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education and Professional Certifications

  • Master’s degree and 4 to 6 years of experience with various cloud services OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 to 8 years of experience with various cloud services OR
  • Diploma and 10 to 12 years of experience with various cloud services
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully.
  • Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals
