As COO, HCC Coding Operations you will be responsible for the d delivery of our core customer deliverables.  The team’s overarching charter is growth through operational excellence and customer success: driving industry best performance across yield, pacing, NPS and unit cost (cost per chart). 

When this team is successful, Datavant will be the unparalleled leader in the industry for clinical data retrieval on behalf of Payers.  

You will manage a ~300 person team spanning production, quality, analytics and strategic vendor partners. This is an enormously impactful position in a ground-breaking company at a pivotal moment. You will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of Risk Adjustment (HCC) coding service and set the vision and path for operational excellence in Payer coding delivery. 
  • In partnership with the coding solutions team, define and ensure alignment and delivery of customer coding guidelines and service levels to exceed customer expectations including productivity and quality
  • Lead and design our org strategy and design to optimize cost, retention and customer success.   
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and product to define, support and execute the coding roadmap
  • Define and execute cost management strategies to gain leverage and improve margin in coding operations
  • Recruit, develop, lead and inspire a high performing team  
  • Own the cost side of the Gross margin walk while partnering with the GTM team to ensure total gross margin exceeds targets
  • Manage a global operations and a national customer footprint with travel expected as needed up to 25%

What you will bring to the table: 

  • Extensive experience in the Risk Adjustment coding services industry at a leadership level with experience managing teams of 100+
  • Comfortable working against deadlines in a time constrained environment
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership in a technology driven, scaled, health services organization where success is defined by increasing automation and efficiency not growing headcount.
  • Proven track record of leading large, geographically dispersed teams (300+ associates). Global experience strongly preferred
  • Experience contracting and managing a partner driven delivery strategy and blending full time, part time, contract and partner labor to achieve margin targets
  • Leadership abilities including demonstrated capacity to produce results in a complex, matrix setting. 
  • Ability to develop and inspire a strong management team. Inspire direct reports to grow and thrive.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and coding associates. 
  • You are known as an exceptional builder and transformational leader yet you are also capable as an operator and optimizer 
  • You listen to customers and convert their needs, pain points, and observations into processes that differentiate our total offerings 
  • You have demonstrated success in transforming operations, building high performance teams and amplifying GTM and strategic initiatives.

The estimated base compensation for this role is $400,000 - $500,000.
