Senior Manager -Data Analytics, Finance

Location: Chennai, Bangalore

Job Summary:

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for complex analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and finance transformation goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the full analytics project lifecycle—from opportunity identification and requirements gathering to solution design, implementation, and post-delivery optimization.

About Team:

Lead the finance analytics team in designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytics solutions. Drive data-informed decision-making by leveraging SQL, Power BI, Google BigQuery, and strong team and stakeholder management skills to deliver actionable insights, support business objectives, and champion finance transformation initiatives.

What will you do

  • Leadership in Analytics Projects:
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for complex analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and finance transformation goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the full analytics project lifecycle—from opportunity identification and requirements gathering to solution design, implementation, and post-delivery optimization.
  • Set clear objectives, manage resources, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability within the analytics team.
  • Present project outcomes, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership, translating technical findings into actionable business strategies.
  •  SQL & Data Management: Architect and optimize complex SQL queries for large financial datasets; own data transformation, integration, and data quality processes.
  •  Power BI Analytics: Build, publish, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI; manage workspaces, refresh schedules, and access controls.
  •  BigQuery & Cloud Analytics: Design performant BigQuery data models, write efficient SQL for large-scale financial data, and orchestrate pipelines that feed Power BI dashboards.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing analytics team; set goals, coach for growth, and establish delivery standards.
  •  Stakeholder Management: Partner with Finance leaders to define KPIs and translate business needs into actionable analytics; present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Finance Transformation: Drive transformation initiatives—process standardization, automation, and technology adoption—to improve reporting accuracy, cycle time, and decision support.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Champion the adoption and integration of advanced AI tools (e.g., Copilot, GPT, and other generative AI platforms) to accelerate analytics workflows, automate reporting, and enhance decision-making.
  • Promote upskilling in AI technologies, fostering a team culture that embraces innovation and continuous learning in generative AI and automation.

What will you bring:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Data Science, Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, or related field; 15+ years in analytics with 10+ years in leadership within Finance Analytics
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing and delivering enterprise-scale analytics projects with measurable business impact.
  • Advanced SQL expertise for finance datasets.
  • Power BI mastery (DAX, Power Query, modeling, workspace/app management).
  • Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery for large, complex datasets.
  • Proven team leadership—hiring, mentoring, and performance management for analytics professionals.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Experience leading finance transformation (process improvement, automation, reporting modernization).
  • Experience integrating BigQuery with BI tools and working across GCP services.
  • Familiarity with other BI tools and cloud platforms.
  • Prior work in retail or large-scale, multi-entity finance environments.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and utilizing AI technologies (e.g., Copilot, GPT, generative AI, machine learning) in analytics, reporting, and process automation.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption of AI-powered solutions across teams and business functions.

Option 3: 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. 1 year's supervisory experience.
