Your Job:

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients.  The Senior Physicist is responsible for the design optimization, technical evaluation, and precise and accurate delivery of radiation treatment plans.  Responsible for the safety of patients and staff.  Directs the radiation oncology physics program, including the technical medical dosimetrists, therapy equipment service engineers and other physics support staff.


Your Job Requirements:

• Graduate Degree in Physics from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum seven year's experience in radiation physics.
• Must maintain certification and maintain continuing education requirements outlined by American College of Radiology.
• Must maintain a full medical physics license from the State of Texas
• Current Certification in field by American Board of Radiology
• Valid state license for radiation physics.
• Knowledge of measurement instruments to calibrate all treatment equipment and patient monitoring devices such as ionization chamber/electrometers used as local standards and field instruments, readout devices, constancy check instruments, and phantoms
• Knowledge of computerized treatment planning systems.  Knowledge of planning, (IMRT, 3-D, SRS, SRT)  Knowledge of HDR and LDR brachytherapy procedures.                                                                                                                 
• Knowledge of computerized water phantom systems with appropriate ionization chambers and diodes
• Knowledge of film dosimetry systems, patient dose monitoring systems, radiation protection measurement devices and appropriate quality assurance test tools for radiation therapy equipment. 
• Computer skill in the use of software programs as well as the ability to troubleshoot software and hardware problems.
