Job Summary:

The position creates web and mobile user interface designs and research artifacts that meet the stated mission and design goals of the UX team. They accomplish this by leading and executing the activities of the J.B. Hunt User Experience Design (UXD) process and producing the deliverables of that process for a software development project. This position also participates in and contributes to the User Experience Governance (UXG) process.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Presents ideas to improve J.B. Hunt UX best practices, including new screen patterns, reusable components, and styles using research findings 
  • Leads and performs research activities on end-user applications such as card sorting, user feedback, user interviews, product analytics, competitor analysis, and usability testing to create research artifacts and updates research artifacts accordingly 
  • Leading the creation of interaction and visual artifacts (like: wireframes, user flows, mockups, prototypes) by reviewing business requirements and implementing designs to help the business achieve their goals using J.B. Hunt UX practices and design system on medium/large scale projects. 
  • Collaborates and consults to facilitate relationships with Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, UX Designers, and Developers by understanding business goals, advocating for the user, explaining design processes and artifacts, implementing feedback, and understanding the technical feasibility of designs
  • Presents designs and/or research findings to E&T leadership to explain user goals and alignment with business goals, and listen to feedback 
  • Resolves questions, clarifications, and design implementation issues by consulting with development teams during their analysis, design, construction, and testing phases in order to ensure proper implementation of proposed designs. 
  • Mentors other team members in UX skill sets (i.e. user research, information design, usability analysis)

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or related field, or foreign equivalent, or suitable combination of education, experience and training;
  • Plus 4 years of experience in User Experience with technologies such as: JavaScript, Java, CSS, HTML, Adobe XD, Invision, Loop 11, Sketch, Usability Hub, or Adobe Creative Software Suite

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
