The Staff Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining the Infrastructure Data design, strategy for CVS Health.  This key technical position is accountable for maintaining the data and engineering standards, developing network automation solutions, implementing documentation best practices, system monitoring and analytics.  The successful candidate will be a level 4 escalation point for outages and participate in an on-call rotation. 

This position will challenge your network knowledge with complex troubleshoots, new automation, and multiple projects.  The Staff Network Engineer will require expert leadership skills.

Responsibilities: 

·       The Staff Network Engineer will operate at the enterprise level responsible for executing a wholistic strategy and tactical plan of implementation, as well as operationalizing investments which ultimately result in a resilient network architecture that is scalable to meet the growing business needs as well as lowered mean time to repair and time between incidents.

·       Represent the networking team on complex projects that require, but not limited to, architecture, automation, and cloud.

·       Maintaining the SOP’s used by the network engineering team for job function. 

·       Lead the team in streamlining process by developing automation for repetitive job functions.

·       Responsible for communication of newly updated standards. 

·       Maintain current hardware, software, and security knowledge for all the platforms maintained within the company.

·       Advance your technical knowledge by taking courses to extend your education, maintain certifications, and add additional ones.

·       Leadership, imparting knowledge, and experience into other team members will aid in their growth as an Engineer.

·       Participate in team meetings to bring technical findings to the group to make us all better technicians.

·       Engineer will need to travel to the office at least three days a week.   The position is hybrid, which links you to an office that you will have to travel to when needed to make changes.

·       Candidate will have to travel several times throughout the year to other business locations.

·       Staff Network Engineer is the top tier level 4 escalation point for complex company outages.  On call is required for this job on a rotating schedule. 

·       Out of standard business hours work is required for this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 7+ years of enterprise network engineering and hands on implementation experience.
  • 5+ years of experience using networking tools such as SolarWinds/NetBrain/StatSeeker/Live Action. 
  • 5+ years of advanced troubleshooting skills using tools such as, but not limited to Net Scout/Splunk.
  • 3+ years of network security on CheckPoint/Palo Alto/zScaler.
  • 3+ years of experience with load balancing on Cisco ASA/F5 platforms.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Worked at a large organization supporting complex networks with absolute fault tolerance in mind.
  • Knowledge of route/switch.
  • CCNA, CCNP certification

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
