Position Summary

Samsung Electronics Baltics is one of 16 Samsung Electronics Sales subsidiaries in Europe. There are 180 employees located across all 3 Baltic countries with the central office based in Riga, Latvia.
Samsung being one of the market leaders and innovators in IT & Mobile industry, is transforming the world of smartphones, tablets, smart accessories.

We are looking for a capable and knowledgeable team member to join our Legal team as Senior Lawyer (2800 EUR -3200 EUR gross + Semi-annual bonus (up to 4200 EUR-4800 EUR gross))

Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support in the fields of competition law, commercial law, contract law, consumer protection, immigration, data protection, and other areas of law;
  • Represent the company's interests in commercial transactions and draft, review, and coordinate the company’s day-to-day business contracts, including purchase, sales, marketing, service, and other agreements;
  • Draft other legal documents necessary for the company’s operations;
  • Participate in the development of legislation while representing the company’s interests;
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal advice to company employees on various matters;
  • Identify and assess business and legal risks, and develop solutions to mitigate them in line with the company's objectives;
  • Review marketing and advertising materials to ensure compliance with legal regulations;
  • Conduct internal audits on legal matters within the company.

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Higher education in law;
  • 3+ years of experience as a legal counsel in an international company or a law firm;
  • Solid knowledge of competition law, commercial law, contract law, consumer protection, and administrative law;
  • Excellent written and spoken Latvian and English skills (minimum C1 level – English is required for communication with colleagues and partners abroad);
  • Strong ability and willingness to independently plan and organize work in a dynamic and fast-changing environment;
  • Experience in implementing legal and regulatory requirements in a business environment;
  • Excellent communication, reasoning, and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience in auditing will be considered an advantage;
  • Experience in data protection will be considered an advantage;
  • Previous experience working across the Baltic region is desirable.
