Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer – API development (multiple openings) in Jacksonville, FL.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer – API development (multiple openings) is responsible for building the credit card APIs. This role is involved in the technical details of building highly available and reliable services, while also working with product teams to build new capabilities for U.S. Bank. This position focuses on technological solution delivery by guiding and inspiring strong coding practices and solid software design decisions among their team.

Specific duties include: (1) design, test, developing, operate and maintain products; (2) write production-ready code that is easily testable, easily understood by other developers and accounts for edge cases and errors; (3) design APIs and apply applicable patterns across several contexts/codebases, in accordance to agreed best practices and standards; (4) use systematic debugging to diagnose cross service issues; (5) participate in on-call take ownership of incidents which fall in their domain and may be involved in the resolution of an incident or provide assistance to others on resolving incidents; (6) implement and configure data distributing streaming and batch spark jobs for different inputs including fixed width, csv files and Kafka to Cassandra DB; (7) assess other code reviews with the lens of quality and value - code quality, acceptance criteria, business logic, test coverage and aligned to overall architecture using SonarQube, Blackduck, Fortify and Twistlock tools; (8) work with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles and on time vulnerability remediation; (9) design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code with detailed specification documents; (10) develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines, and to ensure timely completion of deliverables; (11) enhance Tibco BW, Tibco BWCE rest and soap services using the java spring boot, GraphQl, Kafka and DB2, and configuring in APIGEE and Apollo Gateway; (12) develop RESTful GraphQL services using java 17 jdk, Spring boot, Spring Cloud and Spring reactive frameworks and security implementation using Spring security to allow communication in between the applications; (13) deploy the applications into Rancher, Openshift Kubernetes containers and onprem servers utilizing CI/CD tools Jenkins and enterprise GitLab; and (14) utilize the following tools and technologies: Java, JSP, Javascript, Spring boot, GraphQL, swagger, postman, TIBCO, z/OS, Autosys, Spark, Apigee, Istio, Kubernetes, Kafka, DB2, Cassandra and Azure Cloud.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience with software development, specifically Java code.

Required Skills/Experience: Must also have 36 months of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: (1) designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code with detailed specification documents; (2) developing RESTful GraphQL services using java 17 jdk, Spring boot, Spring Cloud and Spring reactive frameworks and security implementation using Spring security to allow communication in between the applications.; (3) implementing and configuring data distributing streaming and batch spark jobs for different inputs including fixed width, csv files and Kafka to Cassandra DB.; (4) deploying the applications into Rancher, Openshift Kubernetes containers and onprem servers utilizing CI/CD tools Jenkins and enterprise GitLab; and (5) utilizing the following tools and technologies: Java, JSP, Javascript, Spring boot, GraphQL, swagger, postman, TIBCO, z/OS, Autosys, Spark, Apigee, Istio, Kubernetes, Kafka, DB2, Cassandra and Azure Cloud. All experience may have been gained concurrently.

This position is with U.S. Bank National Association, a U.S. Bank company.

Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $140,317 - $154,349.
