Job Description:

Better and fairer care.  Always.

For more than 175 years, St Vincent’s Care Services has been a leading Catholic provider of aged care services in Australia and the legacy of compassion, justice, integrity and excellence entrusted to us by the Sisters of Charity and their Founder Mary Aikenhead continues to inspire our work today.

You will be joining St Vincent’s as we launch our exciting new vision Bringing Care Home, which will take the best of St Vincent’s care beyond our hospitals and aged care homes directly into the homes of our communities across the country, making care more personal and accessible. Bringing Care Home is more than a strategy. It’s how we’ll deliver care that is better, fairer, and more connected – for everyone we serve.

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Residential Care Services Manager leads the day-to-day operational management and drives the overall performance, culture and reputation of our residential aged care home at Carseldine. Historically known as Holy Spirit Home, our 189-bed facility offers residents a supportive and welcoming environment, with Residential Living aged care, Independent Living and Community Living services all available at the same location.

The Residential Care Services Manager proactively leads innovation and change, mentoring their team and embedding a culture of continuous improvement by challenging outdated practices and preparing the home for the evolving demands of aged care. You will drive high-quality care, strong clinical governance and sustainable operations, leading your team to success by ensuring residents receive safe, dignified and compassionate holistic care.

Seeking a warm, effective, innovative and values-led leader for this permanent full-time role, where you will have the support of centralised centres of excellence, collaborating with your peers as part of a national, progressive healthcare organisation.

What’s on your resume is important, but what’s in your heart matters more.

Because at St Vincent’s, kindness works for us.

About The Role:

  • Oversee all performance indicators, including financial budgets, workforce, resident & staff safety, minimum care minutes and occupancy, with accountability for business development and sustainable growth.

  • Strong understanding of all statutory and regulatory requirements including aged care legislation, clinical governance, accreditation standards, quality systems and complaints & critical incident management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build & sustain a positive workplace culture, with experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, including workforce planning, recruitment, retention and performance management.
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset, with the ability to innovate, adapt and lead change in a challenging operating environment.
  • Alignment with, and commitment to, the mission, values and legacy of St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (or related discipline) desirable with evidence of ongoing professional development highly regarded.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of Responsible Person screening checks. This position is considered a ‘Responsible Person’ role, being accountable for day-to-day operations, and having authority, decision-making, influence & responsibility for planning and directing activities within our organisation.

Things that work for you:

  • Opportunity to work for the nation’s largest Catholic not-for-profit health and aged care provider, with a rapidly growing and progressive vision
  • More take-home pay with competitive salary packaging options up to $15,990, Novated leasing, plus an optional Meals and Entertainment card up to $2,650 per annum
  • Be part of a supportive, state leadership team with a great community spirit, where you can grow professionally and make a genuine impact
