Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

PRN This position is offered a per-need (PRN) basis, allowing for flexibility and a work-life balance. As a PRN employee, you will work on an ad-hoc basis, as needed to support the organization's operational requirements. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a part-time or flexible work arrangement.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies for patient visits.
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms.
  • Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate).
  • Assist with medical examinations and procedures, including but not limited to:
  • Phlebotomy and laboratory specimen collection
  • Wound care and dressing changes
  • Injections and immunizations
  • EKGs and other diagnostic tests
  • Provide patient education and counseling as directed by the provider.
  • Answer patient questions and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage patient appointments and scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility.
  • Handle incoming calls and messages.
  • Assist with billing and coding.
  • Stock and maintain medical supplies.

Clinical Support:

  • Assist with medical record documentation.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed.
  • Coordinate referrals and consultations.
  • Assist with patient discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assisting program.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
