Support of Suppliers - Specialist

The Opportunity

Global Procurement & Payment function at Sun Life is establishing a Support of Suppliers team as a result of adopting industry best practices for supplier and business experience. This role is responsible to support suppliers in Sun Life supplier onboarding and enablement processes, and provide L1 support to regular suppliers and business inquiries. This role is reporting to Manager, Support of Suppliers.

What you will do:

  • Execute approach to collect internal vendor contact information.
  • Initiate, gather, collect and track vendor response in vendor onboarding and/or enablement process in SAP Ariba SLP and SAP Ariba Network; follow up as needed.
  • Summarize notes from calls and emails to document the supplier’s position.
  • Prepare summary and detailed reports on outcomes; follow up as appropriate and track outcomes.
  • Influence vendors to begin transacting with a client through the Ariba network.
  • Ensure vendors comply with onboarding requirements to complete Ariba registration and enablement.
  • Coordinate meetings with vendors as needed.
  • Coordinate meetings with internal teams as needed and support the conversation.
  • Support Manager, Support of Suppliers to develop and maintain vendor lists and determine which vendors need to be enabled on the Ariba network.
  • Support supplier enablement vendor reporting on registration and enablement status.
  • Support vendor inquires and escalations.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Possess great communication skills and exercise business acumen when speaking both internally and externally.
  • Ability to maintain a tracking system for vendor registration and vendor enablement (e.g., strong MS Excel or MS Planner for daily uses).
  • Ability to problem-solve and think quickly.
  • Ability to educate and influence suppliers to register and enable them to do business with Sun Life.
  • Mindset of continuous improvement to manage

Job Qualifications:

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in supplier onboarding and enablement program in SAP Ariba SLP and Network.
  • Experience in procurement domain/concepts preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of Ariba vendor enablement and SLP preferred.
  • Knowledge of registering and enabling vendors in SAP Ariba preferred.
  • Clear, concise, and influential verbal and written communication skills are required with the ability to represent a client to its supplier partners.
  • University or college degree in Business Management, Economics, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
