Job Summary

    The Manager, Health Information Management directs the day-to-day management and oversight of all Coding Operations. This position supports the development and maintenance of all Audit projects and ensures smooth and efficient communication among clients, staff, and other third parties. This role ensures all Customer and staff issues are addressed in a timely and constructive manner.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Monitors, assesses, and adjust workload assignments for the team. Reconciles production logs, approves time cards, and monitors & approves PTO.
    • Tracks and reports workflow & productivity of all auditors to leadership to ensure timely and accurate completion. Monitors and assesses staffing levels based on service volume and project goals.
    • Provides team members with prompt direction in response to customer-related critical issues as well as internal inquiries. Communicates critical customer concerns as needed to leadership for direction and line of sight.
    • Supports Project Management leadership by incorporating multiple ongoing projects into a program portfolio, allowing greater standardization and efficiency of project management processes, tracking, and reporting.
    • Supports project management leadership with coordination and development of content for executive meetings & governance committees.
    • Drives increased usage and adoption of project coordination, knowledge management, activity tracking, requirement, issue and risk tracking, and status reporting applications.
    • Follows project management methodology from initiation to closure while leading one or more small-to-medium scale projects.
    • Supports process improvements recurring on a regular calendar cycle while supporting governance committees to drive value to the business units being supported.
    • Conducts performance reviews as needed and monitors performance against established performance metrics.
    • Supports a project team that develops, designs, and installs new enterprise applications, IT technical architecture, and infrastructure systems & improvements to existing systems.

    Qualifications

      Education & Years of Experience

      • Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 9-11 years of work experience

      Certifications

      • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) (Preferred)
      • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) (Preferred)
      • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) (Preferred)
      • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) (Preferred)
      • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) (Preferred)

      Additional Experience

      • Experience in Coding and/or auditing management
      • Experience in medical coding or auditing
      • Experience with various Encoder, Computer Assisted Coding, and Electronic Health Records software applications

      Work Environment / Physical Requirements

      • Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
      • Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

        Pay Rate

        $83,500 - $99,000 Salary

        Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
