Summary:

The Coordinator - Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is responsible for serving as the liaison between the healthcare system and the EMS providers in the community. Collaborates with EMS agencies and other first responders to enhance communication, ensure seamless transition of care for our patients, and improve quality outcomes of services rendered in the Emergency Room (ER) setting at our facilities. Acts as a resource for ER staff and physicians at Memorial Healthcare System (MHS) as well as conducting outreach and training to our EMS partners. The Coordinator - EMS also maintains a presence at each of our facilities ERs to enable informal communication and feedback from our agency partners to occur.

Responsibilities:

Serves as a resource for MHS and Emergency Room staff regarding EMS care and issues.

Serves as an advocate of the healthcare system with private, local, and regional EMS agencies. Serves as the point of contact for EMS providers and responds to inquiries, concerns, and requests for trainings.

Solicits feedback from EMS providers to identify areas of improvement opportunity.

Coordinates and facilitates training, education, and communication between EMS partners and MHS programs including Emergency Medicine, Cardiology (STEMI), Pediatrics, and Stroke.

Maintains professional relationships with EMS services and individual field providers to foster supportive interactions.

Responsible for ensuring collaboration across all care settings within the healthcare system as it relates to EMS and public safety relations. Acts as the point of contact for all agencies and ensures they receive timely and appropriate follow-up to any questions or concerns.

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action when required. Required Work Experience: Three (3) years of hospital RN experience. Other Information: Fire Rescue (EMT/Paramedic) experience preferred.
