As we establish an Investment Firm in the Netherlands, we are seeking a forward‑looking and highly capable leader to serve as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer, reporting to Vice President - Business Management!

In this role, you’ll lead the establishment, operational build‑out, and ongoing management of the investment firm in Amsterdam. This role carries responsibility for the firm’s governance, strategy execution, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality delivery of services in coordination with Nasdaq’s broader European and global functions. There will be two people with a dotted line into this role.

While the firm will engage in areas such as execution services and related market activities, the focus of this role is broad leadership across business management, regulatory oversight, operational excellence, and future‑ready digital capability development.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic, operational, and cultural leadership for Nasdaq IF, ensuring high standards of integrity, risk management, and performance.
  • Serve as a day‑to‑day policymaker under Dutch and EU regulatory frameworks, fulfilling “fit and proper” leadership requirements.
  • Lead all aspects of governance, compliance, and operational controls, working closely with internal legal, risk, and regulatory specialists.
  • Over time, establish and grow the Amsterdam‑based team, including digital and control‑function capabilities.
  • Represent the firm with regulators, supervisory authorities, and partners.
  • Ensure alignment with Nasdaq’s broader business, technology, and infrastructure frameworks.
  • Partner with leaders across Europe and globally to shape the Investment Firm’s service offering and strategic direction.

What You’ll Bring

  • Executive experience in financial markets, investment firms, trading venues, or related regulated environments.
  • Prior exposure to OTC, SI, or similar trading environments
  • Strong understanding of European regulatory frameworks (MiFID II and relevant Dutch requirements).
  • Proven track record to work optimally across global teams and influence at senior levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort operating in a regulated, multinational environment.

Nice to Have

  • Proven track record to lead strategic initiatives, build organizations, and manage sophisticated stakeholder landscapes.
  • Experience in digital transformation, trading technology, or innovative financial services

Benefits & Rewards

This position will start with 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of a permanent contract. The role is located in Amsterdam and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work model. We expect you to be at least 3 days per week in our Amsterdam co-working office space located in Zuidas.

The base pay range is 140,000 - 150,000 EUR gross per annum. Actual pay depends on your skills, experience, education and location.
